Earlier this summer my wife and I joined her family in Pagosa Springs, CO. We were there for about a week and did some really fun things like take a train ride up to Silverton, visit a Native American site, play some disc golf, play cards, sit in hot spring water, and go for a few hikes. Both our hikes went to beautiful waterfalls and through some great mountain woods. The Native America site we visited was Chimney Rock National Monument, a 1000 year old spiritual center for those who lived around there. It was quite impressive and had some beautiful views. Apart from the spiritual building, there were plenty of simple houses and other archeological sites. Overall Pagosa was a unique place nestled in south central Colorado between two mountain ranges. Our trip was a lot of fun and a good respite from our busy lives.
